Format

Maniapoto FM delivers bilingual live and pre-recorded content that connects Maniapoto whānau at home and across the motu.

As a Maniapoto-owned and operated station, we champion kaupapa that strengthen te reo o Maniapoto, elevate iwi voice, and reinforce a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Our focus is 18-40-year-old Māori audiences, with a female skew. An audience that is proud of who they are and connected to the world through music, culture, and digital platforms.

Our format centres on modernising how we connect, also growing our digital reach to engage whānau beyond the rohe, sharing the stories of our people and whenua, and delivering an Aotearoa-first sound built on R&B, Hip-Hop, and Reggae.

Primary broadcast area

Maniapoto FM is based in Te Kūiti and we broadcast Maniapoto places of interest, ensuring our coverage reflects the whenua and communities that are central to our iwi.

Our signal reaches across Piopio, Maniaiti/Bennydale, and the wider Waitomo district, including Te Kūiti and Ōtorohanga, extending north through Waipā, including Te Awamutu, Hamilton and Cambridge.

This coverage allows us to maintain a strong presence across the rohe while continuing to serve Maniapoto communities.
